Hello,

Intramuscular injection in upper arm is given at upper and outer aspect of deltoid area to avoid the circumflex/axillary nerve which supplies the deltoid muscle.Numbness is due to inadvertent injection of the drug close to the circumflex/axillary nerve.

However, numbness will pass off in due course of time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
