What Could Be The Purple Color Spot On Butt Of A 3 Year Old Kid?

My 3 yr old son has been waking up between midnight and 3am for the last 4 night complaining of his butt hurting which i believe he means itching by the way he tries scratching n how he squirms when he sits up. Tonight i noticed a purpleish color spot right in his butt? Whats going on?!
