What Could Be The Reason For A 12 Year Old Having Pain While Urination?

My 12 year old son is complaining that it hurts when he urinates? He is currently taking amoxicillin, so I don't know if a urine test will show anything right now. I was wondering if soap could be irritating him causing the pain. Should I contact his doctor?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for asking query on health care magic.
If your son says it is hurting while urinating, probably he is suffering from urinary tract infection.
Get his urine examined microscopically and if more than 5 pus cells are found per HPF, consult your doctor.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose.
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required.
Take care
