What Could Be The Reason For A 6 Year Old Having Clock Ticking Sound In Head For Weeks?

Hi! My 6 year old daughter has been complaining about a ticking "like a clock" noise in her head off and on for a few weeks. She does not have any congestion or ear problems that I know of. Does she need to be taken in for tests? What could cause this? Thanks for your help!
