What Could Be The Reason For A 8 Year Old Having Sharp Pain In Abdomen Which Increases After Urination?

Hello Doctor, My 8 yr old son came home from school today complaining of a sharp pain in his abdomen that subsides for a couple of hours when he drinks water. He said it is a little sharper when he urinates. I'm more than happy to take him to urgent care but want to cover our bases before making that decision! - Tom

Hi Tom,
Thank you for your query.
Pain in abdomen associated with urination could be due to infection of urinary tract especially urinary bladder.
Give him plenty of water to drink.
Get him investigated with complete urine examination and ultrasound abdomen and pelvis after consulting the doctor.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
I find this answer helpful
