What Could Be The Reason For Experiencing Extreme Dizziness And Problems With Vision?

Hi I'm about 15 and for a couple of months now I been experiencing extreme dizziness and my vision goes black but not completely..this normally happens when I'm laying or sitting and I stand but once happened while I was in the bathroom and at that time I was gasping and I collapsed and my vision went almost entirely black. After a few minutes everything was fine . Do u know what It is or how I can fix it?

HI'
Thank for asking to HCM
Certain very specific pathological reason are "Hypoglycaemia, certain congenital valvular heart disease, some brain lesions, etc." but for functional origin it is wide gate open and in your case it more seems functional one, you wrote your age but did not say any thing about gender it would great matter in such case, have nice day.

General & Family Physician Dr. Polash Sannigrahi's  Response
Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be due to:
1. Any pathology in the vestibular apparatus in inner ear (it is associated with maintenance of body posture & balance)
2. Any fluctuation in blood pressure levels (such as Postural Hypotension)
3. Decrease in blood sugar levels (Hypoglycemia)
4. Deficiency of certain nutrients like Iron, Vitamin B 12, Calcium, etc. which interferes with blood formation & nerve conduction.

Investigations like complete blood count, estimation of blood pressure and blood sugar levels will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.

There is no need to worry, you will be fine.
Meanwhile, maintain adequate hydration, take a healthy balanced diet & avoid stress.
Also, take precautions of not making sudden movements of the head and get up from bed slowly.

Wishing a good health.
Take care.
