What Could Be The Reason For Having A Small Red Bump On My Daughter's Leg?

My 2 year old has a small red bump on her leg with a white head on it. I noticed it the day before yesterday and figured it would go away on its own. I put antibiotic ointment on it but it just gotten worse and it's extremely painful to her. She screams in pain when I GENTLY put ointment on it even. I'm worried because I see all these awful stories about MRSA in the news. What could it be?

Hi Dear

Welcome to the HCM,

Nothing to panic just precaution to be taken.

Probably she has developed Small boil (fruncle).

Analgesic & antinflammatory syrups are to used for pain and swelling.
Magsulf dressing to done to so that it can be reduced and open itself if pus is filled in it.
Many times it is to be incised so that pus come out of the boil and things get vanished in day or two.

If the redness and tender part is getting increased then one should think of taking some relevant antibiotic related to staphylococcus or streptococcus organism.

Hope the query is answered.

Thanks
