What Could Be The Reason For Having A Small Red Rash On My Left Hand?
I have a small red rash on my left hand at the base of my thumb, top of hand not palm. It is about the size of a quarter. It is reoccurring. It does not itch, burn or hurt. It appears for between three and seven days and then it disappears. Any clue why?
Otherwise, if KOH comes out to be negative, a potent topical steroid e.g mometasone or clobetasol would resolve it within 2-4 weeks

What Could Be The Reason For Having A Small Red Rash On My Left Hand?
Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic It could be either a fungal infection Or it could be a patch of discoid eczema. I would advice that you get a KOH scraping from the patch to rule out if its due to fungal infection. A topical antifungal e.g clotrimazole twice daily for 2-4 weeks would be enough in case it is fungal. Otherwise, if KOH comes out to be negative, a potent topical steroid e.g mometasone or clobetasol would resolve it within 2-4 weeks regards
