What Could Be The Reason For Having A Strain Feeling At The End Of Urination And Contains Blood?
The last couple of weeks I have had some discomfort at the end of urinating, almost like a strain feeling, It seemed to come an go on a daily basis. Tonight at the end of urinating about a half hour ago I experienced a couple drops of red blood at the end of my stream. My urine stream hasn t changed, I m not urinating more often, pretty much normal. I have no other pain, in the pelvis or back. My last PSA test was in Jan this year 3.8 little higher then the year before. I m panicking.
The bleeding at the end of urination can occur from a condition of prostate or urinary bladder. It is important to do an ultrasound scan abdomen and pelvis to know if there is any problem in the kidneys, bladder and prostate. The residual urine volume should be measured.
Small rise in PSA can happen but it should not be greater than 1.7 in a year. If compared to your old report there is significant increase in PSA then a trans rectal ultrasound scan of prostate is recommended. This will give better detail.
If there is continuous bleeding at the end of urination then your urologist might suggest a cystoscopy which is to see the lumen of urinary bladder. This is important of other scans show normal findings. Please do not worry.
