What Could Be The Reason For Having Brown Color Vomiting?

My 5 year ld son vomited a brownish color, but not like coffee grounds. He has a mild fever he says his mouth and head hurt. He has been fine all day but suddenly became sleepy and groggy. He fell asleep and when he was picked up he started to vomit.
