What Could Be The Reason For Having Pain In My Right Hip That Runs Down To My Right Leg And Knee?

I have had pain for about 4 weeks now in my right hip and runs down the right side of my right leg to my knee and to push deep in spots it feels like a bad bruise. Sometimes it is a pulsating pain. I notice that it usually hurts worse if I am driving or sitting in a chair - I feel like I have to stretch it out or elevate it. I have no back pain with it.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi there.

As per your symptoms the origin of pain seems to be the hip joint.
Pain in leg and knee is commonly referred in hip joint diseases fue to common nerve supply.

Kindly start by getting an Xray of both hips done for comparison.
Pain of such nature could be due to Arthritis or Avascular Necrosis of hip.

If Xray does not reveal much then go for an MRI of hip joint.

Start an anti inflammatory and analgesic like Indomethacin.

Further treatment will depend on orthopedicians evaluation of the reports.

I hope my advice has helped
Good luck
