Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. Thank you for your question. I am sorry your daughter is not feeling well. The most common diagnosis in pediatric patients with these symtpoms is a viral illness. Viral illnesses typically worsen over the first 3-4 days, then gradually get better on their own. Comforting measures such as fluids, rest, and a fever reducer when necessary is all that is required. However, fever that lasts for more than 3-4 days or worsening symptoms,, could indicate a bacterial infection. If this occurs, I recommend consulting your doctor.
