What Could Be The Reason For Having Unusual Smell In Kid S Urine?

Hi, I ve noticed that my 2 year old s urine has an unusual smell in the past 3 days. She s still on diaper and had 2 UTI as an infant. I m worried that it s coming back. I m contacting her pediatrician to see if he can order a urine test. But is there anything I can do at this point? Thanks.

Hi. This can be due to infantile vulvo-vaginitis a condition quite common for this age. Separate both the lips and clean with water , apply liquids betadine (povidone iodine ) if you have , plenty of oral fluids to dilute urine . Of course a visit to the Pediatrician is mandatory.
