What Could Be The Reason For Tingling In Left Arm And Forearm?

tingling / numbness of left hand and forearm...started with discomfort in my thumb...sorta like after accidentally slamming it in a door (not the pain, but the after effect). Could it be that I just slept funny? Noticed this a few hours after getting up and it still feels a little odd

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi there .

According to your symptoms , it is my opinion that you are suffering ftom Cervical Spondylitis and Radiculopathy......meaning, degeneration of the bones of the neck along with compression of the nerve root of the neck which is causing the tingling sensation .

Kindly get an Xray of the neck along with an MRI to assess the compression on the nerve .

Start with a neurotropic medicine like Pregablin and methycobalamine combination.
Duloxetine tablet taken at night has immediate effect.
Start on cervical isometric exercises which you can learn from a physiotherapist .

I hope my advice has helped
Good luck .
