Hello and thank you for using HCM. I carefully read your question and i understand your concern. I will try to explain you something and give you my opinion and some advises.
Someone might experience this skipping beats for different reasons. It is difficult to tell just by your symptoms.A skipping beat might what we call an extra-systolic beat. This are electrical impulses that generate from parts of the heart different from normal
sinus rhythm. They cause this skipped beat that you feel that is followed by an electrical heart
pause and you feel that your heart beats slow.
Or, if your heart flatters or beats irregularly, this might be a different
arrhythmia or that we call atrial
fibrillation or flatter. These might be paroxistyc events, that come and go,and it is difficult for your doctors to judge.
If i was you treating doctor i will recommend you to do some examinations like a blood analyze to exclude external causes like
anemia,
hyperthyroidism that sometimes might cause this events. Than an echo-cardiography and an holter rhythm monitoring for 48 h. This rises the possibility to monitor your rhythm and catch this events and see what they really are.
I hope I was helpful. BEST REGARDS.
