Hello sir and welcome.

There are various factors that can affect the menstrual cycle. In your girlfriends case, there are 2 causes present. One being infection and the other anemia. The anemia needs to be addressed at the earliest with the help of a transfusion preferably, and the infection with the help of antibiotics (if a bacterial source) or symptomatic treatment in case of viral source as this does not require antiviral medication.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
