Hallow Dear,
The
soft tissue like peeling you are noticing is most likely fungal (yeast) infection. This infestation is very common in menopausal women since their vaginal walls are very thin due to
oestrogen deficiency and also due to loss of Lactobacilli from vagina which give vagina natural protection by maintaining an acidic pH.
Anti-itch lotions and lubricants might give you temporary relief only to find return of the symptoms.
Please get the diagnosis of the infestation confirmed from your Gynaecologist. Anti fungal vaginal ovules would help you to get rid of this infestation. In addition, please use Lactobacilli vaginal ovules and Lactacyd perineal wash.
In addition, please get your blood examined for any evidence of
Diabetes. Fungal infestation is very common in diabetes.
Apart from the medicines, shave the parts clean and use panty liners to avoid reinfection.
These infections can get transmitted sexually. So if you are sexually active, please insist on having simultaneous treatment to you both the partners. Invariably males may not have any symptoms in spite of having early infection; however, male should also have simultaneous treatment lest the cycles of reinfestations to both.
I hope this will provide you relief.
