What Could Cause Blackness In Eyes?

Hi, My 80-year old mother just emailed that she hit her head two weeks ago, and other than initial pain no other side effects except two black eyes. She did however tell me 2 days ago that she hasn't slept well for a while. Might this be a sympton requiring a doctor's input?

hello
as I see from your question your mother has suffered a hit to head and has black eyes but has not taken any medical assistance.Black eyes(raccoon eyes) after head injury can be caused by some bleeding inside the head and usually appears 3-4 days after injury.I would immediately recommend you to rush your mother to ER of hospital and get her fully evaluated like CT scan and expert opinion by a neurosurgeon
