Noted the history of passing stools 5-6 times a day - have 2nd degree piles for which you are planning operation, also have pain in the left hand joint, already taken many medications .
Since you have mentioned about decision to go for surgery for piles means you have been already examined by proctoscopy, I suppose.
The most probable cause of passing stools 5-6 times can be :
Colitis
Pancreatic insufficiency IBS -
irritable bowel syndrome.
Intolerance
This can be diagnosed by the following:
Send the sample of stool for three consecutive days.
Tests of blood for CBC, thyroid, liver,
diabetes and as decided by clinical evaluation and examination by your Doctor or Gastroenterologist.
A course of an antibiotic,
metronidazole and probiotics should be tried.
If not useful, to go for
colonoscopy an CT scan of the abdomen.
This way you will get the proper diagnosis and management.
