I am a 30 year old male, went to pee after waking and it burned like crazy. I have had a UTI before, but it burns while urinating, slow stream, stops then starts again, dribbled at end for seconds, constant discomfort, and what has me worried is I am having constant leakage of urine all day. It s clear, no blood or smell(other than urine) but what could be causing this? I haven t had sex in almost 4 years(oral in 2). Is this an emergency?
Hello and welcome to HCM. As an Urologist,i must advise you to consider this urgently, if you're very symptomatic. You could be having a recurrent UTI. You should be getting following tests done, after examination by an Urologist. 1. urine routine and culture. 2. blood routine, creatinine, sugar,VDRL,HIV,HbsAg. 3. ultrasound scan of abdomen and pelvis. According to reports, treatment can be advised. You can take Tab Ciprofloxacin twice daily, with alkaliser syrup twice daily. Drink 10-12 glasses fluids daily. Hope your doubts are cleared. You may ask a direct question to me. Dr.Matthew J.Mangat.
I can understand your concern. The symptoms you are experiencing are of urinary tract infection only. It can range from mild to severe in severity and so the symptoms might differ from previous episode of UTI.
I would advise you to take Levofloxacin 250 mg (Levoflox) twice a day for 5 days. Drink lots of water and fluids to eliminate infection faster from body. Take rest. You can take Acetaminophen 500 mg twice or thrice a day for pain and fever-like symptoms' relief.
If you do not find relief after completion of this course, you may need to go for urine culture analysis and blood tests.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon!
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
