What Could Cause Constipation After Taking Aleve?

I had a fall off an 8 ft ladder two days ago. I had some muscle pain on my right side just under the rib cage which I got relieved using one aleve tablet. The first night I vomitted a lot of liquid. However, I have been constipated since. What would cause the constipation and could I use a mild laxative.

Hi,

It is highly likely the constipation is caused by Naproxen. Constipation is a known side effect of the medicine. After stopping the medication the stool mostly becomes normal in a couple of days.

If the constipation is not resolving you can use over-the-counter laxatives (e.g. bisacodyl). Also, increase fluid and fibre intake to help your bowel movement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
