What Could Cause Fever And Loose Motion?

Hello! I think that my 17 month old had heat exhaustion today...he vomited this morning around 11am, afterwards we checked his temp. he ended up having a 102 fever. we took cold compresses and lowered his temp and monitored him. we think maybe it was a combination of heat exhaustion and motion sickness from traveling in the car. he seemed fine after about 1-1/2 hour nap. later on he started getting hot again. he s sleeping now in my husband s lap, but his hands feel cold to the touch (he s been covered up with a blanket too). what do you think is wrong with him?

HI...BY WHAT YOU QUOTE I FEEL THAT HE IS HAVING A VIRAL ILLNESS. THIS TYPE OF DIFFERENTIAL BODY TEMPERATURE IS QUITE COMMON IN VIRAL ILLNESS DUE TO DIFFERENTIAL BLOOD SUPPLY OT VARIOUS BODY PART.
I WILL TELL YOU THE DANGER SIGNS OF THIS TYPE OF SCENARIO -

1. IF THE KID IS NOT PASSING ADEQUATE URINE
2. IF THE KID IS DULL AND LETHARGIC EVEN AFTER THE FEVER COMES DOWN TO NORMAL.
3. IF THE KID IS HAVING RED RASH OR PAINTED RASH ALL OVER THE LIMBS.
4. IF THE KIDS BREATHING IS NOT NORMAL.

IF THESE ARE NOT THERE YOU NEED NOT WORRY.

REGARDS - DR. SUMANTH
