What Could Cause Low Energy Levels And Black Stool After Taking Immodium For Diarrhea?

My father who is 83 had a bout of diarrhea a few days ago, and he took immodium to help. I just talked to him and he s not feeling quite right, no energy, and he said his stool is black today. Could this be a reaction from immodium? I know pepto can cause black stools, and I also know it can mean bleeding.

hi
I read carefully all your concerns.
No, Imodium can't cause black stools.
If I were his treating doctor I would recommend to go to ER.
It may be blood, and need to be rule out melena.
wishing you fast recovery
