What Could Cause Mildew Smelling Stool?

I'm a 32 year old male and weigh 185. My stool has been smelling like mildew for the last 2 months. I eat mostly salads and drink wine at night. I also run for an hour everyday. I dont have a problem going and Im regular except for the smell. What do you think it is?

Hi, thanks for using HCM.

Feces normally have an unpleasant smell, but it is a smell that is common and unremarkable. Foul-smelling stools have an unusually strong, putrid smell. Although in many cases, foul-smelling stools are related to the foods you eat, and the bacteria flora resident in your colon they can also indicate a serious health problem. Diarrhea, bloating, or gas (flatulence) may accompany foul-smelling stools. These stools are often soft or runny and are not considered a regular bowel movement.
Recent change in frequency of your bowel movements and smell is significant and need to get evaluated for it.

Common causes are:
Intestinal infection or malabsorption diseases.

Hope this helps you.

Regards
