What Could Cause Pain Below The Sternum After Eating And Then Nausea?
I have severe pain after eating behind the bottom of my sternum. Feels like I swallowed a rock and it is stuck. It hurts then I feel nausiated some and just pain. It eventually subsides but I feel still a little pain. I don t wont to eat now and my head hurts.
Hi i welcome you to HCM. Well i would like to know a bit more on your problem. Whats your age and gender?Does it get stuck anywhere from throat to stomach. Is it for both solids and liquids. Any acidity problems in the past. What about your appetite and satiety? Do you smoke or drink? If yes then how much. Do you need to change posture to swallow? Any history of nasal twang to your voice or nasal regurgitation of food. Have you noticed a membrane forming in your throat? Any comorbidities. There can be a few causes ranging from pharyngeal dysphagia to serious malignancies. Acid peptic disease, Stomach ulcers,Oral/ esophageal insults like ulcers, infections like candida, GERD causing acidity, structural problems like strictures, motility problems of food pipe and malignancy of upper Gastrointestinal tract all can lead to such symptoms. I hope it was helpful. Wish you complete health.
