What Could Cause Random Spike In Blood Sugar? Should I Consider Further Tests?
I just had a test where my blood sugar was 142. I have never had any issues before. I had a bowl of cheerios and skim milk about an hour before. I was drinking coffee with artificial sweetner directly before the test. They said I should be further checked. Do you concur?

Hi, Looking at the history and the lab results, I would suggest you to get an HbA1C (glycosylated hemoglobin) test done. Abnormal blood sugar is usually present in diabetes mellitus. If further test value appears to be normal, then it would remove your worries. If tests are abnormal, you require to get treated for diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus if diagnosed early can be managed with life style modifications. I would suggest you to further under one test of glycosylated hemoglobin. Any further queries, happy to help again.
