What Could Cause Red Rashes On The Abdomen And Chest After Recovering From A Fever?
67 y/o male had high fever of 102 degrees F for almost a week. Fever finally has broken 3 days less than 101 and then less than 100, past 48 hours now 98.9. Today it is noted he has a flat reddened patches, rash over abdomen chest upper thighs back and arms. Not itchy. During the fever he had severe headache, then developed nausea and vomiting and diarrhea. What could this be from? We thought a GI flu but now concerned about the rash if it is something else.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Red rashes may be due to viral fever like dengue, measles or mums or chickenpox or yellow fever etc. Bacteria infection like Rickettsiae infection or Meningococcal meningitis or leptospirosis or Lyme's disease or typhoid. Malaria or septicemia or thrombocytopenia may also present like this. Use moisturizer cream over the body, use vitamin C orally once a day for five days. Check blood for viral fevers, if symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
