What Could Cause Regular Early Morning Numbness / Immobility Of Left Arm?

Hi, can you please tell me the reason why I have a completely dead left arm in the morning when I wake up... Sometimes it is that bad I have to pick it up with my right hand and move it as I have no feeling whatsoever in it. This only ever happens with my left arm. Thank you..

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve in the shoulder. I suggest using anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg. I also suggest to maintain the area immobilized to prevent further damage of the nerve. I recommend to see a neurologist for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
