What Could Cause Spine Injury?

Hi,

I have a spine injury due to an apparent accident 5 years ago. I have had various injections etc and mri.s and now a discogram? this made the symptoms worse for a couple of days. i am on various medications including morphine.

However, may i ask what might appear to be a stupid question e.g. when i was about 20 i had a spinal abcess (or spinal anal abcess) which was operated on then. i was told it would not come back or may? I am wondering if this has come back and might be mimicing the spinal sysmptoms i have now such as my legs and feet. I am told however, that the 4-5 lumber disc - nerve etc is responsible for this, but i also think i 2nd site further done to the S regions might also be responsible OR THIS historical event almost 40 years ago?
