What Could Cause Stool Color Change During HCG Dieting?

Hi, I have been on the HCG diet since 11/6/11 and have lost 41lbs. I am very happy with this program. My stool recently has been very dark. I have been eating the same food consistently. The only thing I have changed is that I am drinking 1tbs of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar in the morning and afternoon with my coffie. I feel great. Just courious why my stool color would change? Thank you, Marty

Cannot say in your particular case without an exam (stool test for blood actually). AND... .classically, dark stool is the textbook finding in bleeding in the gut. Sometimes vinegar might be a stomach irritant in some people. IRON supplements WILL cause stool being dark as will foods that have a lot of iron or other pigments in them (liver, blood sausage, dark green vegetables like kale). HCG is not associated with much of a bleeding risk. Aspirin like drugs including the simple baby aspirin a day ARE.
