What Could Cause Swelling And White Marks In The Tonsils After Completing A Full Course Of Augmentin For Treating Sore Throat?
I finished a round of antibiotics for a sore throat that I had had for 6 days, augmentin, a week ago and two days after I took the last pill my throat started to hurt again. I looked in my throat and my tonsils are red, swollen, and have little white marks on them. What is this? I don t feel like I have a fever but I haven t taken my temperature. I do feel a little nauseous in the mornings though.
You may be suffering from acute follicular tonsillitis. In which the tonsilar crypts may enlarge to form a pus which may come through the opening on tonsils.
You may take Azithromycin along with augmenting. Use salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Use Paracetamol.
If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
