Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Cause Swelling In The Area Where Block Was Given During Surgery For Tear In Rotator Cuff?
Hi I had surgery 10 weeks ago to repair a full thickness tear in my rotator cuff. I have been in PT for 8 weeks. In the past 6 weeks I have developed considerable swelling in my trapezius muscle. It started in the area where I had my block during surgery. My doctor says this is not related. What can be the cause? Never had this before, and now the swelling has moved to the other shoulder as well! Thanks

It could be because of muscle sprain, possibly due to wrong posture while sleeping or splinting movements. Application of hot water fomentation will be helpful In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Wishing you happy and healthy life
