What Could Constant Belching With Hypertension In Elderly Suggest?
My mom is in her early 50s, and she keeps belching and says it feels like a heart attack and some pain. She is a somewhat heavy smoker and has hypertension. Im worried if this is serious enough to call a doctor about it? Because I hear her have a belching episode atleast once a day and Im worried it could be serious.
Persistent belching would be related to the the gastrointestinal tract and is not a symptom of heart disease.
It can be due to :(1) gerd- reflux (2)lactose intolerance (3)use of gas producing foods such as cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts, beans, carbonated drinks (4)intolerance to particular foods
The use of reflux medication may help . A change in diet may also be needed.
I hope this helps
