Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Green, Frothy Diarrhea With Stomach Cramping And Fatigue Indicate?
I ve had urgent, explosive diarrhea only in the evening/nighttime for the past three days. The first night was the worst of it, and it actually felt very raw/burning and smelled very acidic. Following that, last night and tonight it s been less intense, but still accompanied by stomach cramping, heavy feeling in abdomen, general fatigue, and a very frothy, green stool. What can I take to relieve this? Could this be a food allergy?
Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist.
It appears to be due to GI infection. For which I will suggest you to take plenty of fluid and electral powder to prevent fluid and electrolyte insufficiency. Also take a course of probiotics along with mild antispasmodic like drotavarine. Meanwhile get your blood and stool examine (Complete haemogram and stool routine microscopy) to see for any infection and if it is there the a course of antibiotic like ofloxacin will also be required. I hope I have answered your query and this will help you . Wish you a good health
