What Could Have Caused Sudden Pain In The Lower Abdomen After Sex?

After sex yesterday, I got an intense sudden pain in my lower abdomin. It was the worst pain I ve ever felt. It was between a cramp and diahrea pains. It had me doubled over almost in tears. I sat on the toilet and felt dizzy and faint. Then I started pouring sweat, I mean just dripping a puddle in the floor. After ten mins, I went and layed under a fan and took some Advil and felt better. Now I m still a little sore and crampy. What caused this? I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. I also thought I started my period when I was on the toilet, but the blood stopped after a few mins.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The bleeding can be explained by post coital bleed and that is normal in many cases but the pain needs to be investigated and you should get consult from gynecologist and get ultrasound pelvis done to rule out any cyst in ovary or uterine fibroid. Try taking over the counter medicines till the availability of ultrasound report.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
