What Could It Be If Child Is Having Prolonged Cough, Cold Despite Taking Lot Of Medication?

My daughter is 4 yrs old... no past history of any nature. However, she has been suffering from cough nd cold (flum) periodically for the past three months.... initially we gave tixylix, levolin. Again on consultation, we gave ventorlin, cheri cough, novomax. Unfortunately nothing has subsided her cough. We are worried now, and thinking of taking a blood test... pls help us wit a solution....

Greetings of the day

Persistent cough in children going on for so long , one needs to consider the following few possibility and get appropriate investigation to rule it out
1. Tuberculosis
2. Gastroesophageal reflux
3. Variant Bronchial asthma with cough as predominant complaint
4. Post inflammatory hyperactive airway which are causing such problem.

I would suggest you to discuss these probability with your Pediatrician for further management.
