What Could Morning Sickness And Tender Breast Post A Medical Abortion Suggest?
HiI had a medical abortion 6 days ago at just over 6 weeks gestation. I only had mild cramps and bleeding slightly heavier than a period with a few clots. I am currently still experiencing morning sickness and tender breasts. Is this normal - could I still be pregnant? Many thanks

When you passed the clots, have you noticed any white tissue being passed? it denotes that the products of conception have been expelled out. Still if you have got any doubt, you can confirm the complete expulsion of the products by ultrasonography. If there are any products, they will have to be removed by surgical evacuation. However, I see a minimal possibility of this considering the amount of bleeding you had and that now the bleeding has stopped. It is advisable to have a follow up visit to the Obstetrician 7 days after the medical termination of pregnancy.
Nausea you are experiencing may be related to the cramps you are having post terminations. For few days these cramps are welcome since they make the uterus contract and control the bleeding. Some pain killer and antacids will help you.
The breast symptoms are hormones related, particularly increased levels of progesterone. It takes few days to weeks for the hormonal levels to come to prepregnant state, after which your breast symptoms will go away.
