Hi, I fell walking into the school where I work last Tuesday morning. I had awful pain for a day but it really doesn t hurt anymore. But right under my kneecap Is numb ( an area of about 6 inches long and 2 inches high ) and if I run my fingers up and around the area I feel an electric shock like feling going up my leg. What is that? I never saw a Dr. I m a 53 year old female. Thank you

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the injury caused temporary damage to the nerves in the area.

Damage to nerves can result in numbness or abnormal sensations in the area supplied by the particular nerve.

It is likely to be temporary. It can take few weeks to sometimes months for sensation to return to normal.

I hope this helps
