Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I would recommend you seek medical advice by seeing a physician and describing in more detail the nature of your injury. You don't have to have lost consciousness in order to have suffered a TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY (TBI) and especially if your age is above the age of 60-65 I would recommend a CT scan of the head. If you are having ongoing pain which is localized to only one side of your head unless of course, it is definitely simply due to the "goose egg" on your head but I cannot guarantee that to be the case by only having the information above and not being able to actually examine you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dariush Saghafi
