What Could Shoulder And Arm Pain With Numbness Suggest?
I have pain from the shoulder neck area that radiates down my entire arm along with numbness and tingling. It is worse at night and hurts more when I lay on my left side than the right side which is the one that is bothering me. What could be the cause?
Your symptom is suggestive of radiculopathy of the cervical nerves. It can occur as a result of pressure from material from a ruptured disc, degenerative changes in bones, arthritis or other injuries that put pressure on the nerve roots. You have not mentioned your age. Cervical spondylosis with intervertebral disc prolapse is the commonest cause in the middle aged. In the younger people it is often post traumatic. If You have further questions, I am available to answer. Dr. Noble Zachariah If this answer has helped you, please indicate it to guide others with similar query. Thanks
