What Could Small, Painful Lump Near Knee Cap With On And Off Thumping Sensation Be?
I have a small lump on the side of my knee cap, it hurts to touch. It's painful and it feels as if it's a hard but soft tissue in a ball it has a thumping sensation now and then.
I am 16 and have had problems with my knees for a long time but don't know what it is but my knee hurts when I bend down or walk for a long period of time. I noticed the lump about 2 hours ago and it's so sore just want a idea of what it could be thanks.

do you have fever and is the lump is warm to touch?
after going through your query,to me it looks to be abscess if answer to above question is yes.the other posssibilty could be lipoma/sebaceous cyst.
meanwhile to reduce pain take ibuprofen,ice fomentation, and if possible send the picture of swelling.
