What Could Sudden Bouts Of Cough While On Treatment For Pharyngitis Indicate?

Few days back i had a throat irritation a feeling of scratchiness in the throat and cough.i consulted a doctor who suggested me to take Azithral A tablets and told it was phryngities.I had 3 tablets one each day,the feeling of scratchiness subsided bt still I am having sudden cough while eating a bit spicy food drinking, talking or laughing and finally a sneeze after cough.Now I am wondering what the symptoms are of and is eagerly waiting for an expert advicefor correct diagonosis of the disease.

You haven't indicated for how many days you took antibiotics for Pharyngitis.May be it is not cured fully yet, though scratchiness has subsided. Inflammation could still be there. Moreover bouts of cough could be due to accumulated phlegm or allergy too.

In all Upper respiratory tract infections, such as this or in catarrh, its advisable to do saline gargles ofen with warm water. We have experience that even gargles with turmeric powder also helps ease such infection rapidly.

Some decongestant syrup or herbal COUGH syrup is also advisable such as Koflet syrup and Tulsi herbal cough syrup ( Himalaya).

To my patients in such stages, I advise to drink water boiled with Tulsi ( holy basil - Ocimum sanctum) leaves and Koflet sy after a course of antibiotics and gargles with turmeric.
