What Could Sudden Edema And Elevated BP During Last Trimester Indicate?

Hi. I am at 37 weeks with second pregnancy and out of nowhere today my right foot and ankle started to swell. I elevated leg at work and it doubled in size by the time i left. I dont have pain and it isnt red, more itchy due to the tight skin. took bp and it was 148/80. also not normal for me at all. my bp is always around 108/70. Is this a concern?

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi ,
Thank for writing to us.
Yes, You should consult a gynaecologist immediately because your high BP and oedema suggested that you are suffering from eclampsia.
It may affect your baby also.
Good luck.
Regard
Dr.Richa
