What Could The Red Bumps On Arms, Shoulder, Hairline At The Back Be?
My son is a wrestler and recently developed a quarter sized red rash on the back oh his head at the hairline. We have been treating it as impatigo. It has since become a raised knot and I ve noticed 3 other smaller bumps on his arms and shoulder. Any idea what it could be?
I can understand your concern for red bumps on arms, shoulder, hairline at the back in your son. It appears that the area got secondarily infected.
You should meet your treating doctor to get proper diagnosis. Do not try to even touch or pinch the area as can cause more aggravation of the problem and spread of the infection. This area is quite common to get infected very easily because of sweating and high bacterial proliferation.
I suggest you to go for culture and sensitivity of the wound to know the exact organism causing the infection. For time being period you can apply antibiotic cream such as fucidin or mupirocin and take pain killer tablets such diclofenac or paracetamol.
Take care.
