What Could The Shock Like Sensation In Arm Be Indicative Of?

I ve been lifting weights awhile now. Lately I have felt a shocking feeling when I stretch out my arm.left arm. Today I had to do outside work and I felt it stronger and now my pointing finger on my left arm is numb. I m 47 year old female. Thank you Sheila
