What Could Tingling Sensation Radiating From Nipple To Back In A Male Indicate?

I am a 50 yr old male and I am having a tingling sensation in my right breastfeeding area that radiates through the nipple and all the way through to my back. It always starts and ends at the same exact locations. It randomly happens throughout day. My Dr.sent me for a stress test and echocardiogram and both were normal. Any ideas as to what this could be?

Hi,

There are a few potential causes of tingling or numbness in the nipple and back area in men. Here are a few possibilities:
* Nerve impingement: It's possible that a nerve in the chest or back is being compressed or pinched, leading to the sensation you're feeling. This could be due to a variety of factors, including poor posture, a herniated disc in the spine, or a previous injury.
* Shingles: Shingles are viral infections that can cause painful rashes and blisters. The rash typically appears on one side of the body and follows the path of a nerve. If the affected nerve runs from the breast area to the back, you could experience tingling or numbness in those areas.
* Heart-related issues: Although your stress test and echocardiogram were normal, the tingling sensation may be related to a heart issue. For example, angina (chest pain or discomfort that occurs when the heart muscle doesn't get enough oxygen-rich blood) can sometimes cause referred pain in the back or other areas of the body.
* Other medical conditions: There are a variety of medical conditions that can cause tingling or numbness in the body, such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and peripheral neuropathy.

It's important to talk to your doctor about your symptoms to determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment. Your doctor may recommend additional testing or refer you to a specialist, such as a neurologist or a cardiologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
