What Could Yellowish Watery Discharge From Belly Button After Hysterectomy Be?

I had a hysterectomy (lap) on May 21st, only the uterus was taken out. For the past couple of days the incision on my belly button has a discharge from it. Almost like water but a little yellowish. I don t have a fever or pain, so I am assuming it isn t infection. Do you know what it could be?

Hello,

A yellowish watery discharge from the belly button is suggestive of an infection in the area. You need to have proper antibiotics and keep the area clean to avoid the infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rakhi Tayal,
OBGYN
