What Do A Magnified Heart And Pulmonary Vasculature Signify In An X-ray Report?
Good morning Doc, please help me analyzing the result of my xray. These are the following: The film taken with suboptimal inspiration shows crowding of the pulmonary vasculature; there are no active lung parenchymal inflitrates, the heart is magnified, calcific densities line the tortuous aorta, the trachea is midline, the costophrenic sulci and hemidiaphragms are intact and the osseous structures and soft tissues are unremarkable. The x-ray shows a likely enlarged heart shadow. This is a likely finding because the radiograph is during suboptimal inspiration. The prominent pulmonary vasculature can be due to increased blood flow to lung if there is increased blood flow.
