What Do Black Dots On The Hands Indicate?

I m developing black pinprick-looking dots on both hands (no prior injuries or health problems). They ONLY are located all over my Callused Areas on my hands (as my job calluses my hands easily). BUT this is a new development... NEVER BEFORE (in 1 1/2 years) were there black dots all over my callused hands? I m confused, worried. What does it mean, Doctor Rynne??! Any ideas of what it could be, would be appreciated. I m thinking MAYBE Raynaud s Disease??

Hi,

All of a sudden development of black dots as explained by you can be due to the following reasons:
Some problem with the coagulation or bleeding disorders, can be caused by taking Aspirin or such medicines or after liver problems, alcohol and so on.
Can be allergic to something at your workplace, these may itch also.
Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Immediately consult a Doctor to ascertain the cause and get investigated for blood and so on as advised.
Do not take any medications on your own particularly Aspirin or so.
Try to find out any specific reason for such a development.
Raynaud's disease or phenomenon is altogether different and related in your case only if you are a smoker or work in a very chilled atmosphere.
Stop smoking and drinking if at all you do.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
