What Do Complex Cyst And Nodules In Thyroid Lobes Indicate?

Hi, I am female 41 years old. Yesterday, suddenly I have noticed that my neck starts swelling and I have pain in my throat when I need to swallow food or drink. Dr. sent my on ultrasound for thyroid and today I got results: Right thyroid lobe measures 50x24x27 mm. Left thyroid lobe measures 43x14x15mm. Isthmus measures 3mm. Right thyroid lobe mid pole shows a solid nodule measuring 22x17x18mm with some vascularity. Right thyroid lobe shows complex cyst measuring 27x23x19mm. Left thyroid lobe mid pole shows a few small hypoechoic nodules measuring up to 7mm. No evidence of adenopathy I did blood work for hormones and now I am waiting for results. What to do now? Please, could you explain me those results and I don t know what to do now. What to expect, are those nodule can somehow shrink by themselves My neck hurts me to much and I am so panic:( Thank you

Hello,

* The changes in the thyroid gland over the ultrasound report indicates inflammatory changes over benign lesion of cyst and nodules

* The management depends upon multiple parameters as

- level of thyroid hormones in blood with free T 4, T 3 and TSH
- symptoms underlying
- FNAC or biopsy report of the lab
